"Faith's Song"

“Faith’s Song”

[Written in 1999 - For ‘Faith’, a dear friend of mine (Graciela: May this song give you courage to continue writing, despite anything and everything that may happen. Never give up, Sweetheart – NEVER!!!)]

Faith, sweet, tender Child
You play with the Angels
When you write the wrongs
Life hands down to you

Faith… Pain’s in your lines
You now seek God’s counsel
Well, Dear, guess who’s signed?
So, here’s through me, to you

(Chorus)
Take your pen as some do swords
And fight your fright
Yes, fight with Might
Drink your ink as some do Milk
And write your Light
Faith, write it bright
Dare to dream a dream tonight
Where your tears flow
‘Cos the seers know
Oceans never will run dry
But Pain can’t float
When Love’s your boat

Faith, Love’s like a gun
We’ve all felt its barrel
Jabbed up in our ribs
Pointed at our heart

If given the choice
Most would gladly shoot
‘Stead of living life
Cool, detached and lost

(Chorus)
Take your pen as some do swords
And fight your fright
Yes, fight with Might
Drink your ink as some do Milk
And write your Light
Faith, write it bright
Dare to dream a dream tonight
Where your tears flow
‘Cos the seers know
Oceans never will run dry
But Pain can’t float
When Love’s your boat

Faith, Pain’s part of Love
Love makes life worth living
Love lives in your pen
Purge its ev’ry drop

Faith, your gift can feed
Millions who are starving
Share its Mighty Light
Write, Sweet Child, please write!!

(Chorus)
Take your pen as some do swords
And fight your fright
Yes, fight with Might
Drink your ink as some do Milk
And write your Light
Faith, write it bright
Dare to dream a dream tonight
Where your tears flow
‘Cos the seers know
Oceans never will run dry
But Pain can’t float
When Love’s your boat

(Ad lib)
